About the World Poultry Foundation (WPF)

The World Poultry Foundation (WPF) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization working to improve livelihoods, nutrition, and income for rural households through sustainable poultry production. WPF partners with private poultry companies, breeders, and local organizations to strengthen poultry value chains in low and middle-income countries, with a particular emphasis on women, youth, and small-scale farmers. In addition to implementation support, WPF increasingly serves as a technical and knowledge partner, generating data, insights, and tools that help the poultry sector better understand market dynamics and long-term sustainability.

A core area of WPF’s work focuses on dual-purpose poultry (DPP)—birds that are hardy, forage-efficient, and suitable for rural environments while offering substantially higher productivity than local birds. Over the past decade, WPF has worked with partners across Africa and beyond to help build and scale DPP value chains. As these investments mature, there is growing interest from donors, companies, and sector stakeholders in understanding how the DPP industry is evolving beyond individual projects.

Background: Global DPP Industry Monitoring Pilot

WPF is launching a pilot = Dual-Purpose Poultry (DPP) Industry Monitoring initiative to generate a data-driven snapshot of DPP production, sales, and investment trends. The pilot (February–May 2026) will test a structured approach to collecting standardized data from poultry companies, triangulating self-reported information with breeder data, and synthesizing findings into a sector report.

The pilot will focus initially on Africa, with the intention of refining methodology and processes for potential expansion to Southeast Asia and Central/South America in subsequent rounds. This work is exploratory and learning-oriented, aimed at strengthening WPF’s role as a trusted, neutral convener and source of insight for the poultry sector.

Position Summary

The DPP Survey Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the design, rollout, and execution of the DPP industry survey. The role will sit at the center of the pilot, managing timelines, tools, enumerators, outreach tracking, data compilation, data analysis and reporting while working closely with a small WPF core team.

This is a hands-on coordination role requiring strong organizational skills, comfort working with data, and the ability to engage professionally with private sector poultry companies.
