Our mission is to be a catalyst for improving lives globally through the sustainable production of poultry by empowering farmers in developing regions.
Formerly known as the USAPEEC International Poultry Development Program (UIPDP), the World Poultry Foundation works to promote economic development in distressed areas and emerging markets outside of the United States by helping to establish the production, availability, and ultimately consumption of a low cost, highly efficient and nutritious protein that poultry can provide. This will be accomplished by providing technical, educational, and any other assistance needed to foster the development of the local poultry and egg industries.
We bring a complete understanding of the Poultry industry to the table. We provide and strive for greater access to experts in all disciplines involved in poultry production, including:
UIPDP was created in 1997 from an opportunity to assist the fledgling Russian poultry industry. Funds from the U.S. government and poultry industry were leveraged to enter into a joint venture partnership with a Russian broiler production facility. Elinar Broiler was created out of this partnership.
After the sale of UIPDP’s shares back to Elinar in 2006, it was agreed that proceeds would be used for charitable purposes outside the United States, to assist other poultry industries around the world.
In 2015, after a complete strategic review of the organization, UIPDP was re-named to the World Poultry Foundation and restructured to reflect a broader mission for its work, yet focusing on the economic development of emerging markets through direct involvement with local industries and farmers.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, which oversees the vision and mission of the organization in identifying and funding projects that advances its philanthropic purposes.
The World Poultry Foundation is led by CEO Randall Ennis, who has more than 30 years of experience in poultry production and management, including extensive international experience. The WPF also retains consultants around the world who assist in carrying out its mission and projects.
We can assist poultry producers, because we understand their needs. The World Poultry Foundation has the capabilities to improve poultry operations across the globe, because it is founded on the knowledge and participation of poultry professionals across various fields of research and expertise. We can provide a complete understanding of the poultry industry and look forward to it’s growth potential by tapping into years of experience.
